Missing Cabarrus County teen may be in Gastonia, police say
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Cabarrus County deputies are asking for the public's help locating a missing 14-year-old who was last seen in Charlotte earlier this week. William Jeremie Johnson was seen at a Bank of America in Charlotte on Tuesday, July 2. Investigators said they believe Johnson may be in the Gastonia area with people they haven't identified.

Wildlife Commission announces 2024 wild turkey harvest total
RALEIGH — Results from the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission’s (NCWRC) 2024 Wild Turkey Harvest Summary report show that hunters recorded 24,074 birds harvested statewide in 2024, including 2,372 birds taken during the youth season. Hunters harvested 15 fewer turkeys than last year’s record total, making the 2024 Spring Turkey season the second-highest year on record.
