Ex-LSU tight end Mac Markway transfers to Nebraska
Mac Markway, a former LSU 4-star signee from the 2023 class, has landed at Nebraska after entering the transfer portal three weeks ago. The 6’4″, 250-pound tight end played in 12 games last season, earning one start against Mississippi State when starter Mason Taylor was unavailable. Markway logged 60 snaps against the Bulldogs and participated in a total of 160 offensive snaps, along with 39 additional snaps on the kick return team. He was ranked as the 18th overall tight end in the 2023 signing class.
The Saints added a member of LSU's 2019 National Championship team to their practice squad
Another former LSU Tiger is joining the New Orleans Saints ranks. The Saints announced Thursday that they are signing former LSU lineman Austin Deculus to the practice squad. The 6-foot-5, 321-pound Deculus had most recently been with the New York Jets, who claimed him off waivers from the Houston Texans last year. As a professional, Deculus has appeared in 12 games with one start, all for the Texans.
LSU Football will have two priority recruits in attendance for Sunday's game
Throughout the season, one of the most important parts of game day is getting recruits onto campus to see a game. Mostly, the LSU Football team will be hosting 2026 recruits prior to their decisions being made but, we'll see a few 2025 recruits make their way to Baton Rouge. While LSU will be away from home this weekend, the Tigers will have two massive recruits watching the game in person this weekend.

BREC Superintendent Corey Wilson told the Metro Council earlier this week that BREC’s 2022 financial records have been submitted to auditors and their review is underway. LSU Library welcomes students back with "Cutie Fruity" keychains
The LSU Library and the East Baton Rouge Parish Library held a “Cutie Fruity” keychain-making event on Wednesday, August 28th to welcome students back to campus. A row of tables greeted students as they made their way through the library entrance. Two librarians and bags full of colorful felt, thread, cut-outs and buttons sat waiting for students to craft a fruit-inspired keychain.
