Hull man arrested for OWI by Rock Valley
ROCK VALLEY—A 39-year-old rural Hull man was arrested about 11:25 p.m. Friday, July 12, near Rock Valley on a charge of first-offense operating while under the influence. The arrest of Chad Evan Vanden Bosch stemmed from a deputy on patrol noticing the 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe behind him had a faulty headlight while traveling west on Highway 18, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
Two Vehicle Collision near Ashton
Ashton, IA (KICD) — Three individuals were transported to the hospital in Sibley following a two vehicle collision near Ashton about 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Department says 65 year old Barbara Dunaway of Overland Park, Kansas was Westbound on County Road A-34 and failed to stop at the intersection, where 41 year old Allison Behrendsen of Schleswig was Northbound on County Road L-40. Both drivers and a passenger in the Dunaway vehicle were taken by ambulance to the Osceola Regional Health Center.

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - It’s an iconic horror movie with ties to Siouxland. “On Set Cinema” is celebrating the 40th anniversary of “Children of the Corn” in a fun way, in Whiting Iowa. The movie was framed as being set in Gatlin, Nebraska, it was largely shot in Hornick, Salix, Sergeant Bluff and Whiting in the fall 1983.

Carroll Man Charged With OWI After Striking Parked Car, Tree Thursday Morning
A Carroll man has been arrested on operating while intoxicated charges after crashing into a parked vehicle and a tree during the early morning hours last Thursday. According to the Carroll Police Department, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Carroll and 14th Streets at approximately 12:56 a.m. Authorities say 35-year-old Colby Michael Boell was traveling northbound on Carroll Street in a 2014 Chrysler 200 and veered into the southbound lane, striking a legally parked 1996 Chevrolet K1500. The Boell vehicle then overcorrected after the impact and hit a tree in a yard northeast of the intersection. Boell was taken into custody on the serious misdemeanor charge and transported to the Carroll County jail for processing. The Boell vehicle sustained totaling damage. Officials note the car struck the tree with such force as to snap the trunk off at the base.

WAYNE - Wayne State College volleyball players Taya Beller adn Maggie Brahmer were named Sunday by the Omaha World Herald as Co-Midlands Female College Athletes of the Year. Beller and Brahmer led the Wildcat program to a magical season in 2023, starting with a sweep over in-state rival Nebraska-Kearney at Volleyball Day in Nebraska August 30th.

(Sioux City) -- Sioux City East and Ankeny will collide Monday night in a Class 4A substate baseball semifinal. The Black Raiders (25-13) are among the final 24 left in Class 4A after a 3-2 win over WDM Valley Friday. The win avenged Sioux City East's loss to Valley in the first round of substate play last year.
