Boil water notice issued for parts of Mauriceville

    By Keagan Smith,

The Mauriceville Municipal Utility District is issuing a boil water notice for parts of Mauriceville. The notice applies to customers from Morris Road through FM 1130 East and South towards FM 1078.

The Utility District issued the notice Monday afternoon due to a leak on a six-inch water main on Morris Road.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality says all water for human use should be boiled and cooled before use due to concerns of bacteria. This applies to water for drinking, cooking and hygiene uses such as brushing teeth.

Bottled water is also a suitable alternative to boiling water while the notice is in effect.

Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, the office will let customers know. For any questions, contact 409-745-4882.
