MAXWELTON W.Va. (WVDN) – Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company introduced the latest in their own craft beer today. Named October Sky after the movie by the same name. The movie is an adaptation of famous West Virginia author Homer Hickam’s book titled Rocket Boys.

Hickam was on site to talk with fans, sign books and promote the new beer. He took a moment to speak about his new partnership with GVBC.

He said, “I’m so excited for this partnership. A fun fact about it is that there is a scholarship so a student can attend space camp in Huntsville, Alabama. It’s a fully paid scholarship.” Hickman also noted that he is on the board at the camp.

Live bands played throughout the evening and lots of good food was enjoyed by the many attendees. You could take home some of the Oktober Sky beer to enjoy at home. If you enjoy a good craftsman beer, checkout October Sky and help send a child to space camp.
