EASTLAND -- The Coleman Bluecat Football Team dropped the opening game of the 2024 season to the Eastland Mavericks by a score of 21-6. The first score of the game didn't come until late in the 2nd Quarter when Eastland finally found their way into the end zone on a 7yd run. BRONTE -- The Santa Anna Mountaineer Football Team dominated in their season opener on Thursday Night against the Bronte Longhorns 42-22. With both these teams trying to right the ship after three and four win seasons, respectfully, they wanted to start the season off with a bang. The Mountaineers wasted little time getting on the board, scoring several times in the first half. Their defense really stepped up in a big way down the stretch, as well, to put this game away.
