Apply Free Days set for Oct. 7-9
If you'd like to go to college, you can apply for free this fall. Kansas Apply Free Days will be held on October 7-9, 2024. During these three days, any Kansas resident, regardless of age or income can apply for free at any of the state's 7 public universities, 19 community colleges, 6 Technical colleges, and the 21 private member institutions of the Kansas Independent College Association.

The Great Overland Station is bringing magic to the capital city for the third year. "'Magic, Music and Mayhem at Station 9¾" will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug 3 and 4. It will be a family friendly event filled with multiple activities and small shows for everyone to enjoy.

NOTO Board of Directors makes selections for new leadership
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The NOTO Board of Directors has selected new leadership for the organization. According to NOTO officials, they have selected Pedro Concepcion to serve as the organization’s Chief Executive Officer. Officials said Concepcion is a well-established fixture in NOTO and the Topeka community, co-owner of several small businesses and has contributed to the establishment of many popular restaurants in Topeka. He has also served on the NOTO Board of Directors since 2020. Concepcion will succeed Thomas Underwood, who is retiring later this year. Concepcion will assume leadership of the organization Aug. 1. Underwood will continue to support the organization during a transitional phase.
Celebrate ‘Day of the Cowboy’ at Flint Hills Discovery Center
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - You’re invited to celebrate ‘Day of the Cowboy’ at Flint Hills Discovery Center in Manhattan. This yearly tradition features horse-drawn carriage rides, a dunk tank, wood block branding, western style photos and more. It’s Saturday July 27, 10am-3pm. All activities are included with regular admission. The first 250 children will receive a free baseball cap.
