Oppressive heat is headed to Southern California. The National Weather Service says the high temperatures will pick up today and Saturday. Anywhere inland of Downtown Los Angeles will experience warming, with 93 to 103 degrees common for highs. Excessive heat warnings are in place for the Antelope and Santa Clarita Valleys through Wednesday, where the mercury is expected to hit 110 degrees.
Man accused of assaulting new mom in Brentwood released on bond
A man who was arrested after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman who was walking with a newborn baby earlier this week has been released on bond. On Thursday, police confirmed that a suspect, later identified as 26-year-old Abraham Shily, was arrested in connection with the attack, which happened Tuesday on the 900 block of South Gretna Green Way in Brentwood.
