Season Ends The Way it Started For Senior Melons
The bad news is, the weather cut the Gothenburg Melons’ season a little short. The good news, they went out with a win. The Senior Melons traveled to Kearney on Tuesday, July 2 to take on the Kearney Jersey’s Seniors. Coincidentally, that is the team Gothenburg started the season against back on May 22. The season began with an 11-0 victory, and ended with a 16-8 win.

The Nebraska Football team has honored Hall of Fame Coach Tom Osborne outside their new athletic complex. A statue of Osborne and quarterback Brook Berringer has been installed outside the Osborne Legacy Complex. Fred Hoppe sculpted the statue, which was initially installed outside the Osborne Athletic Complex on the north side of Memorial Stadium in 2006. REPORT: Top tackle to take final visits before commitment
According to a recent report, the top offensive tackle in the class of 2025 may take a series of final visits before announcing his commitment next month. David Sanders Jr. will announce his decision on August 17th. Sanders will decide between Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee, and Nebraska. Steve Wiltfong of the On3 Network has reported that the tackle will make his announcement after a series of final visits. The tackle, a five-star prospect, plays for Providence Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina. Nebraska was a late addition to Sanders’s recruitment process. When he announced it back in March, the Cornhuskers were left off his top six, but a visit to the Lincoln campus in May appears to have made an impression.
