City of McAllen Sandbag Distribution for Hurricane Beryl Preparation
McAllen, TX – In anticipation of Hurricane Beryl, the City of McAllen has announced sandbag distribution for residents to safeguard their homes and businesses against potential flooding and storm damage. The distribution will take place on Friday, July 5, and Saturday, July 6, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, weather permitting, at the City of McAllen Westside Softball Complex (Westside Park), located at 1000 S. Ware Rd.

Mayor Villalobos offers safety tips for hurricane season
MCALLEN, Texas – McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos has participated in a public service announcement to give safety tips in the event of a hurricane or tropical storm. Villalobos did so with meteorologists still unsure if Hurricane Beryl will reach the Rio Grande Valley region. Currently battering the Yucatan Peninsula, Beryl is expected to continue on its eastward path across the Gulf of Mexico over the next three days, reaching landfall again in the early hours of Monday.
