Coker Athletics Releases Fall 2024 Schedule
As the 2024 cross-country is on the horizon, the Coker University men's and women's teams are gearing up for a competitive season. The teams will start off their season at the Bruins XC Night Classic on August 30th, followed by the Downback Invitational on September 6th. The teams will compete in September at the Converse Kick-Off, a Southeast Regional Preview. In October, they will face off against tough competition at the Royals Cross Country Challenge before heading to the SAC Conference Championships on October 19th.

This year, the Kershaw Conservation District will have one district commissioner position on the November 5 General Election ballot. The election of conservation district commissioners is through the petition process on a non-partisan basis. Conservation district commissioners are non-salaried officials. Nominations are now being accepted for the Camden High School (CHS) Hall of Fame. As a result of Camden’s surrender to Gen. Charles, Earl Cornwallis, on that date, the governing authority over area people and property became that of the occupying British military, rather than that of Continental South Carolina and the would-be “united states.” For nearly a year, the British were garrisoned in full control of Camden before they withdrew to Charleston in the second week of May 1781.
