LANCASTER, SC — Mrs. Janie Elizabeth Lynn Snipes, age 87, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at her home. She was born Oct. 12, 1936, in Jefferson, S.C., a daughter of the late J.W. Lynn and the late Iva Serena Boone Lynn and was the loving wife of the late Bobby E. Snipes.

Ruby Jean Wilson Gelderman, 76, widow of Robert H. Gelderman Sr., died Saturday, June 22, 2024, at The Terrace in Bishopville. Born May 19, 1948, in Darlington, she was a daughter of the late James C. Wilson and Ola Atkinson Wilson. Mrs. Gelderman retired from Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. She enjoyed playing bingo and baking and loved her family dearly.

Drug Awareness and Recovery Foundation seeks to save lives
PAGELAND, SC — The Clark Ashton Cato Drug Awareness and Recovery Foundation is continually striving to educate young people about the dangers of fentanyl poisoning. The foundation was created last year by Melinda Cato, a Pageland native who lost her son, Clark Cato, Sept. 20, 2020 to fentanyl poisoning at the age of 32.
