Gospel in the Park held
PAGELAND, S.C. — Pageland Main Street’s Gospel in the Park was held at the Pageland Community Center on Sunday. Sherri Honeycutt, director of Pageland Main Street, said although the turnout was not that great, the event ended up being “a revival.”

Woman arrested after ‘squatting’ two homes
Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputies arrested a for third-degree burglary, trespassing and larceny after they determined she had “squatted” at two homes. Kershaw County Sheriff Lee Boan identified the woman as 45-year-old Christie L. Alexander, whose official address is on Yorkshire Drive in Lugoff. However, according to Boan, along with information provided on Facebook and in KCSO incident reports, Alexander made herself at home in another Lugoff residence and then one in Elgin.

Emergency departments respond to 3-vehicle crash
PAGELAND, S.C. — High Point Fire, Pageland Rescue, and Lifeguard EMS responded to a 3-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 207 and Crow Burk Rd. Friday, July 5. Arriving on the scene, Engine 11 discovered a pickup truck, hauling a side by side on a trailer, had veered off the roadway following a collision with a black sedan, according to a press release from High Point Fire Department (HPFD). The side by side had detached from the trailer and overturned.

Arrests made in Darlington family shooting; investigation ongoing
DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WPDE) — A person has been arrested in connection to a domestic-related shooting on Friday in Darlington. According to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence on Old Mill Pond Road where there appeared to have been an altercation among family members where one family member was shot in the head.
Two men arrested in South Carolina charged in North Augusta arson investigation
Two men were arrested in Darlington, South Carolina on Thursday in connection to an alleged arson at Palmetto Place Apartments in North Augusta. Nelson Dwayne Locklair, 41, and Brian Keon Byrd, 30, are charged with arson in the second degree and were extradited back to Aiken County on Friday, according to a news release from the North Augusta Department of Public Safety. They are being held in the Doris C. Gravit Detention Center.
