Heat continues to build into area
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – The heat continues to build into the area. High temperatures have been sky rocketing all day. Temperatures along the border belt and Pee Dee, have been closing in on the 100 degree mark today. In fact some locations towards Cheraw, Lumberton, and Bennettsville reached 100 today. Numerous locations continue in a heat advisory for the remainder of the day into the evening hours. Heat index values spiked to 112 in Florence today. Tonight we will see another hot and humid evening across the area. It will be a slow fall through the 80s. In fact right along the coast, we may not fall below 80 for a low.
