New trail, shuttle service add to Brundage mountain biking offerings

Starting at 7,640 feet and winding down 1,700 vertical feet, a popular mountain biking trail has even more to boast thanks to recent enhancements.

Brundage Mountain Resort recently announced a new return shuttle service to transport mountain bikers back to the McCall-based resort after they’ve descended the snow-less slopes.

The return shuttle service begins July 18 and will cost $20 per person per pickup at the West Face parking lot. The cost is $40 per person if a lift ticket is added in. The shuttle will run at 9:30 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. and is limited to four passengers per time slot. The service runs Wednesday through Sunday during summer operating hours.

Three intermediate trails have been built since 2017 to combine into the 12-mile trail system. Brundage Mountain Bike Parked opened Lakeview Vista trail in 2019, followed by Rock Garden two years later. Most recently, B2BB was opened last year by the Central Idaho Mountain Bike Association.

“When B2BB opened last summer, this combination of trails instantly became a fan favorite,” said Ken Rider, general manager of Brundage. “Now that the shuttle service permit from the Payette National Forest is in place, mountain bikers can drop off the top of Brundage Mountain for an incredible, enjoyable ride without worrying about the logistics of doing their own car shuttles.”

Brundage has also started offering a mountain biking package called One and Done for ride enthusiasts “who want to experience lift-served mountain biking but not spend an entire day on the mountain.” The service includes a rental or demonstration bike, plus a one-time ride up the lift. The cost is $70 and is $50 cheaper, the resort stated, than a full-day rate.

For those interested in mountain biking but who have no experience, the resort’s Sports School offers daily lessons.
