FIRE DESTROYS HOME NEAR HOMER CITY
Nine fire departments were called to the scene of a house fire in Homer City Wednesday night. Indiana County 911 reported that firefighters from Homer City, Coral-Graceton, Indiana, Brush Valley, Black Lick and Blairsville were initially dispatched at 9:20 PM to the home at 115 Pine Street in Center Township, with crews from Aultman, Clyde and Coal Run called out four minutes later to provide additional assistance. Homer City Assistant Fire Chief Joe Izzei, Jr. told us what he saw when he first arrived.
Plum seniors donate to Make-A-Wish to paint parking spaces
Some of Plum’s incoming seniors are reserving their parking spaces in colorful and creative ways. After paying $75 to park for the 2024-25 school year, 60 seniors paid $30 more to paint their spots, with the proceeds benefitting Make-A-Wish, said Rick Berrott, a television production teacher and co-sponsor of the National Honor Society.

The violent event unfolded on the 1100 block of Hamil Road as reported by authorities around 4:41 p.m. Tuesday. Teenager stabbed multiple times in Penn Hills
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A teenager was stabbed in Penn Hills on Tuesday. The Allegheny County Police Department said in a news release on Tuesday that the teenage boy was stabbed multiple times on Hamil Road around 4:45 p.m.He was taken to a local hospital, police said, adding that he was last listed in critical but stable condition. The victim has not been identified.Police said the suspect drove away from the scene in a vehicle, but they later crashed into another driver. There were no injuries in the crash. The suspect then ran from the crash scene but was later found, officials said. The suspect has not been identified. "Detectives are in consultation with the district attorney's office to determine appropriate charges," Allegheny County police said in the news release.
