LONGTIME BRUSH VALLEY FIRE CHIEF PASSES AWAY
A longtime member and former chief of the Brush Valley Fire Department has passed away. (Photo courtesy Bowser Funeral Home and Cremation Services) Edward “Dick” Altemus died on Wednesday. He served the Brush Valley Fire Department for 65 years, 63 of them as its chief. He was also employed as a machinist for Fisher Scientific for 35 years. Altemus was also a fixture at Penns Manor sporting events and was also a coach for several teams.
POLICE REPORTS: DISORDERLY CONDUCT, HARASSMENT
An Indiana man was charged with disorderly conduct in an incident on Monday in Indiana. Borough police say that officers were dispatched to the “00” block of North 7th Street on July 15th for a report of a man yelling at passing vehicles and pedestrians in the area. When police got there, they found 38-year-old Matthew Palmer and upon further investigation, found he was continuing to make unreasonable noise to try and cause public inconvenience, annoyance and alarm, according to the report. Charges were filed through District Judge Tony Sottile’s office.
