Things have been incredibly stressful… I suffered a traumatic knee injury recently while we are preparing for my 16 y.o. son who has special needs to undergo his 15th major surgery, a complete spinal fusion procedure. This one injury has made everything so complicated because I cannot walk or drive and so scheduling and work has been difficult. On July 14th 2024, upon leaving the medical complex for his final set of pre-op X-rays, he spotted this adorable quilted heart hanging in a bush not far from the exit. It brightened his entire day and curbed some of the anxiety in the moment as he carefully removed it from its limb and lovingly attached it to my crutch “for decoration”. Thank you to whomever left this heart for us, it certainly made mine a little fuller. 🩷

SC ‘seafood school’ trains students for careers
Graduates of a new month-long apprenticeship program in coastal South Carolina hope to find jobs in the commercial fishing and mariculture industries. The inaugural class of the South Carolina Commercial Seafood Apprenticeship Program recently wrapped up.
