Man arrested for shooting at two juveniles with ghost gun in Salina
SALINA, N.Y. — The suspect in a shooting on Noble Avenue in the Town of Salina has been identified as 31-year-old Bior Ajak. Ajak was arrested for shooting at two juvenile males Sunday evening. The gun he used was also identified as a ghost gun according to the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office.

Justus Ross-Simmons is a name that hasn’t been mentioned enough by Syracuse fans this offseason. It’s understandable, in a way. Kyle McCord is the most highly-touted transfer the Orange have acquired in recent memory, so he’s gotten more attention than any other offensive newcomer. In terms of other weapons, Oronde Gadsden should be healthy again and LeQuint Allen was great last season. Even Zeed Haynes, who is a less proven transfer receiver, is getting more attention, although his stock probably got boosted given that he’s coming over from Georgia. But among all those pieces, Ross-Simmons is set up to make himself known this fall.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The United States women's basketball team cruised past Japan 102-76 in a rematch of the 2021 gold medal game in Tokyo. Japan's tallest player stands 6-foot-1, and Team USA has six players that height or taller -- Breanna Stewart is one of those players. Stewart repeatedly used her superior size to get into position for entry passes deep in the paint or grab offensive rebounds for easy put-backs off the glass.
Mets Minors Weekly Report: Baty Bounces Back in Syracuse
The Syracuse Mets lost five of six games in their series this past week. Despite the results of the games, Brett Baty had a really positive week. He led the team in hits, home runs, RBIs, doubles, and runs scored. Overall, he went 7-for-22 with two homers, five RBIs, two doubles, five runs, and he also walked four times and stole a base. Baty cooled off after a scorching start to his stint in Syracuse, and his week has his OPS back up to .910.
