McCONNELSVILLE — Southeast Ohio's inaugural Lavender Festival is set to transform McConnelsville from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 17. Hosted by Bellavenue Manor at 207 S. 10th St., this free event marks a fragrant milestone for the region. Bellavenue Manor, an urban lavender farm and gift shop operated by Mark Ponchak and Nick Jenior, cultivates around 600 lavender plants throughout the village, used in various products and projects.

The festival promises a sensory journey for visitors, offering fresh-cut lavender bundles and a You Cut experience. Culinary enthusiasts will delight in the lavender-themed offerings, including The Woodchuck BBQ's special lavender-rubbed chicken and lavender BBQ sauce. Home + Brew by Misdiy will present an array of lavender treats and specialty drinks, while Smith Brothers Creamery will unveil a limited release of their Lavender Milk exclusively for the event.

Live performances by Will Gorrell, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and again from 2-4 p.m. The festival will showcase a diverse range of local vendors, including Snyder Flower Farm, Flora by Fawn Flower Farm, Ohio’s Winding Road Marketplace, Eve's Flower Patch, Town Square Collectibles, Down the Rabbit Hole Acres, ELEVATE - mind, body, soul, and Rustic Treasures each offering unique artisanal products.

Visitors can engage in interactive craft projects such as StencilSplash DyeCraft and flower pounding on

    canvas.

The lavender celebration extends beyond Bellavenue Manor, with local businesses in downtown McConnelsville joining in the festivities. Old Bridge Brewing Company will feature special lavender brews, El Palenque restaurant will add a lavender twist to their margaritas, and Meyers Specialty Market will have a host of lavender baked goods. Free parking is available on surrounding streets and designated areas.
