A local brunch spot serving chicken and waffles and other breakfast favorites in McDonough appears to be expanding.

A new location of Nana’s Chicken-N-Waffles is planned for Sandy Springs at The Prado shopping center, according to ToNeToAtl.com . The space was formerly occupied by Marlow’s Tavern.

Nana’s Chicken-N-Waffles Sandy Springs, LLC was created in January 2024, according to a filing with the Georgia Secretary of State’s office.

The restaurant that first opened in Conyers in 2016 is currently located in McDonough at the South Point Shopping Center. The menu features Southern comfort food, touting family recipes dating back to 1939. The menu includes a variety of waffles (both with poultry and without), shareable plates like fried green tomatoes and beignets, and savory sides like grits, sausages and potatoes.

Nana’s Chicken-N-Waffles owner Kelli Potter-Ferrell is the author of the cookbook Kooking with Kelli . Products are available to purchase from the company website, including waffle mix and gold-flaked maple syrup.

In an Instagram post from February 2024, Nana’s Chicken-N-Waffles teased a second location and asked followers where they would like to see the concept next.

More information was not immediately available about when the Sandy Springs location would be expected to open.
