Dan Stone Re-Signs With Black Bears, Becomes Fourth Champion to Return
Dan Stone has re-signed with the Black Bears, becoming the fourth player from the 2024 Champion team to re-sign with Binghamton. Dan Stone (#52) played in every regular season and playoff game last year, suiting up for a total of 63 games. This past season, he was named an Empire Division Rookie All-Star, scoring four goals and 22 assists as a defenseman. According to the Black Bears, Stone's rating of +28 was the highest amount for the team's defenseman and third overall for the organization.

Obituary of Joseph F. Pistell
Joseph (Joe, Fuzzy) Frederick Pistell 91, of Cortland, NY, passed away on July 10 at home surrounded by his children. Joe was born in Syracuse, NY to Joseph and Federicka Piscitell on May 17, 1933. He graduated from Christian Brothers Academy High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Syracuse University. Upon graduation, he served a short time in the Army and then in the National Guard for eight years. Joe worked as a chemical engineer and sales manager for R.H. Miller, Pennwalt Corporation for over 30 years where he developed three products that were patented.
Cortland man charged after police say they witnessed drug sale
CORTLAND, NY (CortacaToday) – A man is in custody after authorities in Cortland say they saw him selling drugs. Cortland Police were investigating Thursday, July 11 near the Speedway gas station on Port Watson Street when they allegedly witnessed Christian Rogers make a narcotic sale. The 32-year-old had fentanyl, cocaine, meth, packaging material, and cash in his possession, according to Cortland PD.

HAMILTON — Alyssa Guido has been named Colgate University's new head women's lacrosse coach, Vice President and Director of Athletics Yariv Amir '01 announced Thursday. Guido spent three years as the associate head coach and offensive coordinator at Drexel University, helping the Dragons win their first-ever Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) championship in 2022 and guiding the program to three-straight NCAA tournaments.
