Two charged with stealing from construction crew at Rockingham Speedway
ROCKINGHAM — Two men are accused of stealing tools from Richmond County’s iconic racetrack. According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to Rockingham Speedway on Tuesday July 16 — three days after the track’s open house event — for a reported larceny.

1st seed library grows in Scotland
LAURINBURG — The Scotland County Memorial Library and the Scotland County Cooperative Extension Office have teamed up to bring the first seed library to the county. The seed library currently features fall seeds such as broccoli, kale and turnips. It is located at the Scotland County Memorial Library and available for anyone to come in and grab a few seed packs.
Emergency departments respond to vehicle crash off a bridge
Pageland Rescue and High Point Fire Department were dispatched to Landsford Rd. at Gene Blakney Rd for a reported MVA with a vehicle off the bridge in the creek on Sunday. Upon arrival, it was determined that an occupant was trapped in the vehicle. Lanes Creek Fire and Lancaster City/County fire departments responded for mutual aid. Pageland Rescue 1 arrived and utilized Hurst Edraulics to gain access to the vehicle.
