10 New Grocery Stores Coming to California: Who, When, Where

The latest population estimate for California from the Public Policy Institute of California is just over 39 million. That is a lot of mouths to feed. Therefore, it is not surprising that some of the major national grocery chains concentrate their business in the Golden State. There are more Costcos (139), Trader Joe’s (202), and Sprouts Farmers Markets ( 145) than any other of the 50 states. I mention those three examples, because there is news that each of those companies has plans to add multiple locations to their portfolios in the state soon.

Here is where and when those new locations are scheduled to arrive:

• Napa— Kaiser Road and Syar Way (now Riversound Way)—October
• Pleasanton—Johnson Drive economic development zone—October

Trader Joe’s--6

• Ladera Ranch—-27542 Antonio Pkwy—Opening TBD (to be determined)
• Northridge—9224 Reseda Blvd—Opening TBD
• South Pasadena—1129 Fair Oaks Ave—Opening TBD
• Santa Clarita—19037 Golden Valley Rd—Opening TBD
• Sherman Oaks—14130 Riverside Dr—Opening TBD
• Poway—13644 Poway Rd—Opening TBD

According to the announcements the company hopes all new locations are ready by the end of 2024.
