Publix Announces Grand Opening Date for New NC Store

The Publix grocery chain has announced on its website plans for a brand new store in the Tar Heel State. The company was founded in 1930 by George Jenkins, who opened his first location in Winter Haven, Florida. Since then, Publix has grown to nearly 1,400 stores across eight Southern states, with 50 locations in North Carolina.

The new North Carolina location will be at the Harris Farms Shopping Center, located at 1254 Coddle Creek Hwy, Mooresville. The grand opening for the 48,387-square-foot store is scheduled for October 23rd.

Publix claims to be the largest employee-owned company in the US and among the 10 largest grocers nationwide. The company maintains its headquarters in Florida.

    What do you think?

Do not get too excited. I did at first when they built one here. I waited for the newness to be over, then went shopping there. Walked around for an hour and left after spending $13.00. Was not impressed with their pricing at all. Went back to shopping at Foodlion. It is more high end shopping. I would classify it alongside Lowe's Foods.
