Missing dementia patient found safe in Ithaca woods
ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – An Ithaca woman with dementia is safe after getting lost in the woods overnight. Tompkins County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a vulnerable missing 69-year-old on Winston Drive around 9 a.m. on Sunday. A concerned neighbor made the call and assisted authorities with information from a Wi-Fi tracker. The tracker last placed the woman walking into a wooded area on Meadowlark Drive around 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Richard W. MacLaury, 83, of South Otselic, NY, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Crouse Community Center, Morrisville, NY. Born in McDonough, NY, on June 29, 1941, Richard was the son of the late Julian and Jessie Wilcox MacLaury. He retired from the Chenango County Highway Department in 2000 after 16 years of service. Prior to that, he had worked for the Town of Lincklaen as a heavy equipment operator.

Richard Albert Bushnell (Dick/Bushy), 78 of Cortland passed away peacefully on Thursday July 18 at home. Dick was born in Cortland on November 3, 1945. The 8th of 11 children born to the late Bernice (Henry) & Lyman Bushnell. He grew up on Floral Avenue and attended Cortland schools all his life, graduating from Cortland High School in 1965. After graduating he was drafted in the US Army, serving from 1965 – 1967. Upon being honorably discharged Dick began a long, and proud career with Coca-Cola retiring after 35 years. After retirement Dick returned to work, working for the Cortland Housing Authority and Walden Place Assisted Living Facility.

McGraw man sentenced to 15 years for repeated sexual abuse
CORTLAND, NY (CortacaToday) – A McGraw man who previously pled guilty to sex crimes is headed to prison. Robert Schulte, 45, is sentenced to 15 years behind bars on a felony charge of a course of sexual conduct against a child. In May 2024, Schulte admitted to abusing a victim multiple times in Cortlandville and Solon from 2015-2022.
