Hundreds turn out for the 2024 Putnam County Senior Expo
OTTAWA, OH (WLIO) - Healthcare, wellness, and financial advisors were all on hand to help Putnam County seniors on Friday morning. The Putnam County Senior Expo brought together around 60 different senior citizen agencies, organizations, and non-profits, as well as private businesses geared to helping the lives of seniors. There was also free breakfast, educational talks, and a chance to dispose of unused or expired medication. Hundreds of seniors look forward to the expo each year because it’s a one-stop shop for their health and wellbeing.
Thursday night car fire damages drive-thru at Cable Rd. Chase Bank
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A car fire turned into a 2-alarm fire after flames climbed to a drive-thru at a Lima bank. The Lima Fire Department was called out just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday for a car fire at the Chase Bank on Cable Road. The car was parked near the ATM on the building when it became fully engulfed. The roof of the drive-thru caught fire. The American Township Fire Department was called in to assist. Firefighters acted quickly to protect the rest of the building. No one was injured. Firefighters were on scene for about an hour and a half. The estimated damage is around $40,000.

Cleveland, OH – Showers and storms will return to Ohio this afternoon, bringing moderate to heavy rainfall and isolated strong to severe storms. According to the US National Weather Service in Cleveland, repeated rounds of heavy rain across the region could allow for isolated instances of flooding, especially in typically flood-prone areas such as urban, low-lying, and poor drainage areas. Some storms could become strong to severe, with damaging winds approaching 60 mph, but confidence is low.
