UniverSoul Circus Returns To Washington Park In September
WASHINGTON PARK — The UniverSoul Circus is returning to the South Side in September after skipping last year. There will be performances Sept. 6-Oct. 14 in Washington Park, 5531 S. King Drive. Tickets start at $27.50. Performances begin 7 p.m. Thursday-Friday; noon, 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays; and noon, 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sundays. Street parking is free.

Foxtrot Brings Back 45 Former Vendors as September Return Inches Closer
When Foxtrot relaunches in September and reopens its Gold Coast store, the chain of shoppy shops will stock items from many local brands familiar to fans. Foxtrot co-founder Mike LaVitola is back leading the newly formed company, separate from Outfox Hospitality, the entity that filed for bankruptcy in May. It’s supported by New York-based private holding company Further Point Enterprises. The new Foxtrot has gathered 45 former vendors to be part of the relaunch. Loyola University Chicago wraps up Centennial Forum demolition
Quite a bit of debris remains, but little else other than memories, of the Loyola University Chicago Centennial Forum demolition in Rogers Park. The City of Chicago issued a demolition permit for the two-story concrete building on May 23, and demo contractor American Demolition got to work almost immediately. Now the entire structure is gone, and work is being done below grade to close off the multi-level plaza that connected Centennial Forum to Mertz Hall next door.
