Tree Down on Old Hwy 27 causes Power Outage
VICKSBURG, Miss. – According to reports, a downed tree on Old Hwy 27 has caused power outages to the Oak Park area, Lee Rd, and Old Hwy 27. The Entergy Website shows, as of this writing, that the outage affects 1,173 customers. Power is expected to be restored by 11 a.m.

Mississippi State University saves rare sea turtle
The turtle had its third successful visit for special care after a fishhook was lodged in his stomach. Toast Malone, a Kemp’s ridley sea turtle, has been successfully treated for specialized care at Mississippi State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine (MSU CVM). This turtle, among the world’s most endangered sea turtle species, received an endoscopy upon arrival where John Thomason, DVM, MS, DACVIM, identified and removed a fishhook from his stomach, saving his life.

Assisted living facility site moves to Gluckstadt after withdrawing Livingston proposal
The Oaks, an assisted living facility initially intended for Livingston, will now begin construction in Gluckstadt following unanimous approval from the Board of Aldermen. Husband and wife duo Chad and Crystal Phillips are the developers behind The Oaks.
