Emmer speaks at RNC...rips Democrat handling of riots after death of George Floyd
(Milwaukee, WI) -- Minnesota Congressman Tom Emmer is predicting that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is going to turn the state "red" in November. The 6th District congressman spoke at the Republican National Convention Tuesday and the theme was " make America safe again." Emmer blasted Democrats' response to the riots in Minneapolis after the police killing of George Floyd and said, ""Donald Trump stands with the people and the police, our men and women in blue -- not with the criminals and the rioters!" During the Twin Cities riots, then-President Trump threatened to send in the military and later took credit for quieting the situation. Governor Tim Walz deployed the National Guard and his office says Trump had nothing to do with that decision. Democrats respond Trump supporters assaulted 140 police officers during the January 6th, 2021 attack on the U-S Capitol.
