Seven people, two dogs displaced by Menifee house fire
Seven people and two dogs were displaced Thursday morning when a two-story single-family dwelling caught fire in Menifee, authorities said. The fire was reported at 8:08 a.m. in the 27000 block of Swift Street, off Bradley Road and just south of Newport Road. The blaze was contained to the structure, which is uninhabitable due to major fire and smoke damage, according to Cal Fire.

After an intensive bout of investigative work, Riverside County Sheriff's deputies have nabbed a man linked to a spate of commercial burglaries. The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Joseph Roybal of Temecula, was known for a distinct modus operandi stretching through Temecula and its outskirts.
