I submit he knows all about it but realizes how unpopular its tenets would be with voters.

Letter: Kindness matters
There was a beautiful letter in the July 10 paper written by Kate Finn of Homer. It is the best letter I have read in a very, very long time. I would encourage everyone to please read Kate’s letter. Her wisdom speaks to a need for all of us to simply be kind to each other. Her message was clear and concise. A better future comes with better values, trust in one another, and compassion and understanding for all. Thank you, Kate, for “Rules to live by” that we should all embrace.

Anchorage police on Tuesday identified a 30-year-old man who was shot to death outside a downtown bar over the weekend. Police in an update said Tahjeay Baldwin was pronounced dead at a hospital after he was shot around 2:40 a.m. Sunday on the 700 block of West Fourth Avenue. Unsettled, stormy weather continues across southern Alaska
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Another day of heavy rain is expected in parts of Southeast. Juneau saw a record rainfall on Sunday with 1.24″ of rain. That beat the previous record for that date of 0.84 inches (1989). Sitka also had a record rainfall day on Sunday with 1.31″ coming down. This surpasses the earlier record of 1.21″ (1987). Another 2 inches of rain is likely around parts of Southeast over the next three days.
