Alaska Regional Hospital (ARH) is proposing to expand its life-saving healthcare services into South Anchorage with a new Certificate of Need application. The hospital announced it is again seeking state approval to build a full-service emergency room facility to meet what hospital officials say is a growing need for services in Anchorage.

The Anchorage Wolverines made the most of nearly every go at Ben Boeke Arena in three seasons of existence, winning almost 70% percent of their games in the 50-year-old barn. On Monday, the North American Hockey League junior organization officially announced it is moving next door to the Sullivan Arena for the 2024-25 season. 2 Wasilla women found dead after suspected carbon monoxide poisoning
Alaska State Troopers say two women were found dead at a Wasilla home Saturday, in a suspected case of carbon monoxide poisoning. According to an online dispatch, troopers were informed shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday that Rosa Schlosser, 21, and Desiree Michaud, 19, had been found dead in Wasilla’s Williwaw subdivision. First responders, including Wasilla police and medics, had tried to resuscitate them but they were declared dead at the scene.
