Two women found dead in a Wasilla home on Saturday are suspected to have died from carbon monoxide poisoning, Alaska State Troopers said. The bodies of Rosa Schlosser, 21, and Desiree Michaud, 19, were found in a home in the Williwaw subdivision in Wasilla, troopers said in a statement posted online. The deaths were reported to troopers early Saturday afternoon, troopers said.

Anchorage Mayor LaFrance announces 6 new executive hires
Anchorage Mayor Suzanne LaFrance has announced six new executive appointments. In a statement, LaFrance said Barbara Jones will be deputy chief of staff. Jones previously served as Anchorage municipal clerk before retiring last year. She has also worked as the municipal ombudsman and as executive director and staff attorney for the Anchorage Equal Rights Commission. Jones joins LaFrance’s previously announced chief of staff Katie Scovic.
Alaska Regional Plans New ER as Anchorage Faces Growing Need for Emergency Care
There's a growing need for emergency care in Anchorage and Alaska Regional is trying to answer that call. The hospital wants to build a full-service emergency room facility along the Old Seward Highway in South Anchorage. This new ER would include imaging and diagnostic laboratories and five emergency room beds.
