A bit of sun and warmer temperatures for the weekend
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - High pressure is building in to Alaska over the next few days so much of the state will see some sunshine and warmer temperatures. Southcentral Alaska will see mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the 70s starting Friday. By Saturday and Sunday, Talkeetna will likely see temperatures near 78 degrees.

Lectures, field days offer plethora of mushroom information
Mushroom enthusiasts will have several opportunities to learn more about Alaska’s fungi — and get their hands dirty — via lectures and field trips in August. Mycologist Gary Laursen will lead a three-day workshop in Delta Junction on Aug. 16-18 and another in Palmer on Aug. 30-Sept. 1. Alaska Army Guardsmen bid families farewell ahead of Middle East deployment
JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska (KTUU) - Nine soldiers with the Alaska Army National Guard (AKARNG) were honored at the Camp Carroll flagpole on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in late May as part of a farewell ceremony ahead of their nine-month deployment to the Middle East.
