FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Fairbanks-based mining company Contango ORE announced Wednesday that it has completed the acquisition of HighGold Mining. The deal, reportedly costing Contango about $37 million, gives the Fairbanks company control of the 21,000-acre Johnson Tract southwest of Anchorage. That tract contains the JT Deposit, HighGold’s “flagship” asset, which has gold, zinc, copper and silver deposits.
