ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The cost of living has always been a concern for residents in the 49th state, and the cost of housing has a lot to do with that. A recent study published by the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation shows that the average principal and interest payment for homes purchased has increased by 52% from 2018 to 2024. The average rent has increased 24% over that same time period.
