But in the Charlotte area, some of the coolest places around are the eight Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation swimming areas. At two of those locations, kids can stay cool while learning how to swim for free.
Democrat Sidman raises 4 times more than Rep. Tricia Cotham in high-profile NC House race
Democrat Nicole Sidman’s campaign is vastly outraising that of her controversial Republican opponent, Rep. Tricia Cotham, in their high-profile N.C. House race. Sidman, a congregational life director at Temple Beth El in Charlotte and the Democratic nominee for the southeast Mecklenburg County House District 105 seat, faces Cotham in November. From Feb. 18 to June 30, Sidman’s campaign raised $264,489.33 — more than four times as much as Cotham during the same period.
Heat Advisory issued for Mecklenburg, surrounding counties
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A Heat Advisory has been extended into Mecklenburg County as the Carolinas continue to be beat down with intense heat. In addition to Mecklenburg County, the advisory is in effect for Anson, Richmond, Stanly and Union counties in North Carolina, and Chesterfield County in South Carolina.
