The Biden campaign is “working to pull down our television ads as quickly as possible” and “pausing all outgoing communications” in the wake of the shooting at former President Donald Trump’s Pennsylvania rally.

Trump was rushed from the stage by Secret Service personnel after shots being fired and he grabbed his ear as if struck. The shooter was killed and at least one member of the audience was confirmed dead by the district attorney.

A campaign official confirmed the move to Politico journalist Eugene Daniels in a comment just moments after President Joe Biden issued a statement following the incident.

Biden issued the following statement just prior:

“I have been briefed on the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania,” Biden said. “I’m grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well. I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information. Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There’s no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it.”

    This is a developing story.
