Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) laughed on Wednesday night when he was asked by CNN’s Kaitlan Collins to react to Donald Trump calling his presumed 2024 opponent, Kamala Harris, “more liberal” than him.

“I have to ask you about something that Donald Trump said at a rally tonight when he was attacking Vice President Harris. He said she is, quote, ‘more liberal than Bernie Sanders.’ Is that how you would put it?” Collins asked the progressive stalwart.

“Uhhh, Probably not,” Sanders replied with a chuckle, adding:

It is just possible for the 83rd thousandth time that Trump is lying. No, I don’t think that is the case. I think that the vice president had a very strong record in the U.S. Senate, strong work at working with President Biden in the administration.

“But no, I don’t quite think that her record is where mine is in terms of being progressive,” Sanders concluded.

As Trump works to sharpen his attacks on Harris, the former president told a rally in Charlotte that Harris is the “most incompetent and far-left vice president in American history.”

Trump claimed she “has been the ultra-liberal driving force behind every single Biden catastrophe. She is a radical left lunatic who will destroy our country if she ever gets the chance to get into office.”

Trump went to call Harris, a former prosecutor, the “most liberal elected politician in American history” and said “more liberal than Bernie Sanders. Can you believe it?”
