‘Did She Switch Party?’ CNN’s Jennings Sarcastically ‘Welcomes’ Kamala Harris To GOP For Claiming She’s ‘Tougher’ On Border Than Trump

CNN’s Scott Jennings on Friday sarcastically “welcomed” Vice President Kamala Harris to the Republican party after her recent comments about being “tougher” on the border than former president Donald Trump .
On Friday’s CNN NewsNight , Jennings joined host Audie Cornish as part of a panel, and on the subject of Harris talking tough on the border at her rallies in and in a new campaign ad, said that there’s nobody who is going to believe her – outside of space aliens, perhaps.
After Cornish played a clip from the Harris-Walz rally in Arizona earlier in the day, she brought up to Jennings recent polling showing that indicates voters continue to trust Republicans more on immigration and the border than they do Harris and Democrats.
Before his answer, Jennings first replied, “Of course, but I’d just like to first welcome Kamala Harris, the vice president into the Republican Party.”
“Is that all it takes?” Cornish said.
“Well, I mean, I saw her ad today and I thought, did I – did I miss something in the, did she switch party? Is she now running as a Republican?” Jennings said. “Because if you were a space alien and you landed on this planet and you knew nothing, and you watched that ad, you’d say, ‘Well that Republican, she looks pretty tough on the border right now.'”
In reference to the “Tougher” ad that debuted this week, Jennings continued, saying, “There is no conceivable way that any person in this country is going to believe that Kamala Harris or any Democrat candidate for president, after everything they’ve said and done, is going to be tougher on the border than Donald Trump.”
The White House and some media have disputed and unsuccessfully tried to debunk their own previous repeated assertions and designations of Harris as the administration’s “border czar” — an informal nickname for whomever is the public face overseeing the issue — yet has also tried simultaneously to rehabilitate the Vice President’s image on the issue of the border and immigration, a top issue for American voters.
JENNINGS : Of course, but I’d just like to first welcome Kamala Harris, the vice president into the Republican Party.
CORNISH : Is that all it takes?

I am I want to Venmo the DNC right now. So they’ll keep running these ads and keep reminding people of what a disaster this is!
