Trump Warns Harris Will Enforce ‘Communist System’ Where ‘Everyone Gets Healthcare’

Former President Donald Trump warned voters that Democratic nominee Kamala Harris will enforce a “communist system” where “everybody gets healthcare.”

During Thursday’s press conference at his Bedminster golf club, Trump claimed that Harris intends to “dump everyone onto inferior socialist government-run health care systems with rationing and deadly wait times, while massively raising your taxes.”

Although Harris previously supported Medicare for All, she has since distanced herself from the idea. A spokesperson for Harris recently confirmed to NBC News that she “will not push single payer as president.”

She wants to take away your private health care. There are many people in this country who spend a lot of money on private health care. It’s the best health care in the world, by the way. But they want to do it. They worked hard to make money and they want to do it under her. You’re not going to have private health care plans anymore. And you can be a wealthy person or middle income person and you want to spend on a really good plan, better than a government plan. And you’re not gonna be allowed.

You’re all going to be thrown into a communist system. It’s a communist system. You’re going to be thrown into a system where everybody gets health care.

Trump’s attack contrasts starkly with his past publicly touted position on healthcare.

In 1999, Trump told Larry King that healthcare should be considered “an entitlement” and said: “I believe in universal healthcare. I believe in whatever it takes to make people well and better.” He also praised Canada’s single-payer system in his 2000 book The America We Deserve, citing its cost efficiency and the longer, healthier lives of Canadians compared to Americans.
