Michael Moore Predicts Trump Could ‘Explode’ And ‘Start Talking Like a 12 Year Old’ During Harris Debate

Michael Moore expects a debate between Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris to be everything he’s been hoping for for the past eight years.

In an interview with The Guardian, Moore praised the success of Harris’s campaign, but also warned Democrats the election is far from won because “we have a history of blowing it.” The filmmaker also predicted Trump would be more triggered facing off against Harris in a debate than he was in past debates with President Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton. Harris, Moore argued, gets under the former president’s skin more than others.

“I think I’m going to see what I was hoping for for eight years,” the filmmaker said. “Once anybody gets under that thin skin anything can happen. On live TV? Trump could explode, start talking like a 12-year-old, though no offense to 12-year-olds, or get up and leave.”

Moore added that the Harris campaign will be in a “holding pattern” until Trump and Harris take the stage in September, but he insisted Harris and her running mate Tim Walz are both “people of substance.”

“It’s a holding pattern until she gets on that stage with him. I understand why people are nervous it might be a sugar high but Harris and Walz are people of substance. They’re being slow and cautious enough to get it together,” he said.

Moore had been one of the more vocal liberals calling for Biden to step down when the president was still running for reelection. The filmmaker referred to his campaign as “elder abuse” following a May debate between Biden and Trump.

Moore recommended Harris and Waltz stick to attacking Trump and his running mate JD Vance as “cringe and weird” until the debate.

“Do weird and cringe until the debate and then nail him,” he said. “But nail him with irony, satire and a simple way to point out the beyond weird absolute idiocy and insanity of what these two men are talking about. Reach them on a commonsense level so it doesn’t matter if you’re Democrat or Republican.”
