Trump Claims He Will Stop Violent Crime in America in All-Caps Rant Against ‘WAR ZONE’ Chicago

Former President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump previewed the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Monday by calling the city a “WAR ZONE” and vowing to end “VIOLENT CRIME IN AMERICA” in a post on Truth Social.

“CRIME IN AMERICA IS OUT OF CONTROL. I AM GOING TO MAKE IT, ALONG WITH THE ECONOMY, INFLATION, STRONG BORDERS, AND ENERGY DOMINANCE, MY TOP PRIORITY,” began Trump. “THE DEMOCRATS ARE HOLDING THEIR CONVENTION IN CHICAGO IN ORDER TO SHOWCASE IT, AND YET 117 PEOPLE WERE SHOT, 17 KILLED, ON THE FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND, AND 40 WERE SHOT THIS WEEKEND. THAT IS A WAR ZONE, AND WILL BE HANDLED ACCORDINGLY.”

“I WILL BRING CRIME IN AMERICA DOWN TO A TINY FRACTION OF WHAT IT IS TODAY,” he concluded. “MOTHERS WILL NO LONGER BE LOSING THEIR CHILDREN BECAUSE WEAK, LIBERAL POLITICIANS HAVE GIVEN UP ON SECURING A CRIME FREE USA!!! I WILL STOP VIOLENT CRIME IN AMERICA!!!”

In addition to highlighting crime in the Windy City, Trump took care to draw attention to the anticipated protests of the Biden administration’s policy on the Israel-Hamas war.

“The Radical Left protesters in Chicago are going after the Democrat Party because the know they are weak and ready to break into a full blown party of Socialism or, if they really do their job, and with a little bit of luck, the Communist Party of the United States of America,” he wrote in a separate post. “They are already very close and, having a Marxist trained and believing President whose father is a Marxist professor, Comrade Kamala Harris, stranger things have happened! November 5th, 2024, will be the most important day in the history of our Country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump has leaned heavily on messaging about crime and disorder throughout his political career. At his inauguration back in 2017, he deplored “the crime and gangs and drugs that have stolen too many lives and robbed our country of so much unrealized potential” while declaring that “this American carnage stops right here and stops right now.”

That message has been undermined, however, by his handling of the January 6 Capitol riot inspired by his post-2020 election lies and his subsequent promise to pardon participants in it.
