Fox’s Trey Gowdy Points Out The ‘Best Thing’ The Republicans Have Going For Them As Democrats Take Spotlight

Fox News host Trey Gowdy joined America’s Newsroom on Monday morning to discuss the start of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago and pinpointed what he sees as the greatest asset to Republicans this week – the protests outside the convention.

Anchor Bill Hemmer began by noting that Fox will be talking to “a lot of folks this week in Chicago. A lot of those people are not happy with the Democratic platform and what’s going on here, and they’re going to be protesting in the city. And I know we talked earlier about them having all kinds of different causes.”

“I see it as one singular cause. And that’s the war in the Middle East. And they want Netanyahu out. They don’t like him. And they want the IDF out of Gaza and a cease-fire now, here is Donald Trump talking about, what it’s like for Jews in America today,” Hemmer said before rolling footage of Trump repeating his regular talking points on the topic.

Hemmer then read from the Wall Street Journal’s editorial titled , “Dangerous time for Jews.”

“’Harris doesn’t want to upset the pro-Palestinian Democratic left. We’ll see this week if that bet pays off for Ms. Harris and the Democrats. But it would help if she denounced the anti-Israel voices in her party that are increasingly anti-Semitic. This dangerous time for Jews will become more so unless leaders stand up against the haters,’ end quote,” Hemmer said.

Gowdy responded, “With two of them just lost. Two members of the squad who are most pro-Hamas lost in their primaries? These protests may be the best thing Republicans have going for them.”

“So when you think about Minneapolis and the Pacific Northwest and Baltimore, when Elijah Cummings was begging them not to burn down the neighborhood, these images of protests, particularly in support of a terrorist group, are the best thing that can happen for Republicans,” Gowdy continued, adding:

The notion that we are going to create more victims because we think people have been victimized doesn’t resonate with the American people. So it’s going to be a tough week for Republicans because they’re not, you know, they’re not in control. But the more imagery you can show of people. Go back to October the 7th, killing women, butchering children, and you want to protest and reward that with a state. Good luck selling that to people in swing states.
