Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) called out Donald Trump for pushing the narrative he wasn’t selected to be Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate because he’s Jewish.

Shortly after Harris announced her intention to run for president of the United States, Shapiro was reportedly being considered as her vice presidential candidate. She ultimately selected Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz .

Many Republicans — including Trump — called Harris anti-Semitic and claimed she didn’t pick Shapiro because of his faith.

Speaking to the media on Monday morning, Shapiro said Trump was “full of it.”

“Donald Trump is the least credible person to listen to when it comes to hate and bigotry and certainly anti-Semitism,” Shapiro said. “I mean, remember, this was the guy after Charlottesville — when folks were walking around with tiki torches saying, ‘Jews will not replace us’ — who literally said, ‘There are good people on both sides.’ Donald Trump is completely full of it; and he’s trying to use me, and he’s trying to use other Jews to divide Americans further. We have seen this with Donald Trump over and over and over again. He is the least credible person when it comes to standing up against hatred and bigotry.

“Leaders have a fundamental responsibility to speak and act with moral clarity, and Donald Trump is bankrupt in that category.”
