The crowd at the Democratic National Convention broke into chants of “Lock him up!” after Hillary Clinton brought up how former President Donald Trump was the first person to run for the White House with 34 felony convictions.

The former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee took the main stage at the United Center in Chicago to give a rousing speech in support of Vice President Kamala Harris.

Harris “has the character, experience, and vision to lead us forward,” said Clinton, before bringing up Harris’s past work as a prosecutor “helping children who were abused and neglected,” talking about how “that kind of work changes a person — those kids stay with you.”

“Kamala locked up murderers and drug traffickers,” Clinton continued. “She will never rest in defense of our freedom and safety.”

She then brought up Harris’s opponent.

“Donald Trump fell asleep at his own trial,” she said. “And when he woke up, he made his own kind of history. The first person to run for president with 34 felony convictions!”

The crowd responded with loud boos and then broke out into chants of “lock him up!” — so loud that Clinton was unable to continue her remarks for about half a minute. Clinton, who was frequently a target of a similar chant during Trump’s 2016 campaign rallies, smiled and nodded as the chants filled the arena.
