Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) sung the Rolling Stones’ “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” to former President Donald Trump at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago on Monday.

During an interview with Schumer on the convention floor, NBC News NOW anchor Tom Llamas asked, “What’s your message to former President Trump tonight?”

Schumer then began to sing, “You can’t alway’s get what you want,” before walking away.

“Senator Chuck Schumer, the senior senator from the great state of New York there for us,” reacted Llamas.

Trump repeatedly used the 1969 song during his 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns, despite protests from the Rolling Stones.

After the band worked to prevent Trump from using the song, the former president eventually stopped using the track and replaced it with the Village People’s “Y.M.C.A.”

In 2018, the Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards told the BBC it was “kind of weird” for Trump to use the song at the end of his rallies considering it was a “doomy ballad about drugs in Chelsea.”

“It’s kind of weird if you think about it, but he couldn’t be persuaded to use something else,” said Richards at the time. “it was an odd thing, very odd.”

This article has been updated to correct Tom Llamas’ job title.
