Joe and Jill Biden Tear Up as President Takes Stage for DNC Address To Pass Torch to Kamala Harris

President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden could be seen tearing up at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago on Monday as the 46th president took to the stage to pass the torch to Vice President Kamala Harris .

Before Biden took to the stage, his daughter Ashley Biden delivered a speech about her family and losing her brother Beau Biden to cancer in 2015, before calling on all those who voted for her father in 2020 to vote for Harris in November.

“In 2020, my dad selected Kamala Harris to beat Donald Trump, and he knows in 2024 she will beat Donald Trump again,” she said. “Our freedom, our democracy, our reproductive rights. All of this, all of it is on the ballot, and I know together we can do this because my dad helped show us the way.”

After Biden walked out onto the stage, he embraced his daughter, as the First Lady could be seen tearing up in the audience.

Biden then wiped his eyes with a handkerchief before raising his daughter’s hand as the audience delivered a standing ovation.

“Thank you. Thank you,” responded Biden, holding his hand on his heart as the crowd waved “We Love Joe” banners.
