Fox Confronts Trump Over Posting Taylor Swift AI Fakes: ‘Are You Worried Taylor Swift Is Going To Sue You?’

Fox Business Network correspondent Grady Trimble confronted former President Donald Trump about posting AI fakes suggesting pop superstar Taylor Swift supports him, asking, “Are you worried that Taylor Swift is going to sue you?”

Earlier this week, Trump posted several screenshots featuring AI-generated images of young women wearing “Swities for Trump” merchandise, writing, “I accept!”

Swift has not endorsed Trump, and there has been heavy speculation that she will follow up her 2020 endorsement of President Joe Biden with an expression of support for Vice President Kamala Harris.

On Wednesday’s edition of Fox Business Network’s The Evening Edit, Trimble shared his exclusive Trump interview with anchor Elizabeth MacDonald, including his question about the Swift fakes.

Trump may have made a key admission when he told Trimble he knew “someone else generated them” and that someone told him “These were all made up by other people” — apparently relying on that fact as protection from liability:

TRIMBLE: I also ask the former president about a bit of a controversy on the Internet. He posted some images of Taylor Swift that were A.I.-generated. And then there were — the Internet was all abuzz that Trump’s going to get sued over those images. Listen to this.

TRIMBLE: Are you worried you’re going to get sued, that — are you worried that Taylor Swift is going to sue you?

TRUMP: I don’t know anything about them, other than somebody else generated them. I didn’t generate them.

Somebody came out. They said, oh, look at this. These were all made up by other people. A.I. is always very dangerous in that way.

It’s happening with me too. They’re making — having me speak. I speak perfectly, I mean, absolutely perfectly on A.I., and I’m, like, endorsing other products and things. It’s a little bit dangerous out there.
